Toni Washington
Toni is the original lead vocalist for the band East Coast. She has performed at high society functions including celebrity and corporate parties and clubs throughout the metropolitan and tristate area. Other credits include performing with smooth jazz guitarist Peter White and jazz saxophonist Jarred Arsomena. While working with the renowned Peter Duchin and his orchestra, she has performed for President Clinton while in office and sang at President Clinton’s birthday party and subsequent parties at the Waldorf Astoria in NYC, often sharing the stage with artists such as: Burt Bacharach, Ray Charles, Tony Bennett, Diane Shurr, Joni Mitchell, Rosemary Clooney, Sid Caesar, and Billy Crystal to name a few.
Ruth Ansell
Ruth is a pianist, composer, and arranger, with diverse musical interests ranging from jazz, rock, pop, and blues to classical. She has studied piano, orchestration, and music theory at Juilliard, jazz piano with Doug Beardsley, and has performed all over the tri-state New York area and beyond. Some of these venues include Steinway Hall and The Underground in New York City and, along with Brad, she has also performed at the Highline Ballroom and B.B. King’s in Manhattan, the Guinness Storehouse in Ireland, and The Broadmoor in Colorado. Her musical influences range from Beethoven to The Beatles to Bill Evans, and her style is a reflection of her eclectic musical tastes. She is also an original member of the Composers’ Collective based in New York City.
Brad Singer
Brad, a dynamic and versatile drummer, drawing on a comprehensive musical education and a diverse range of performance experiences. His rhythmic foundation is rooted in jazz, nurtured under the tutelage of the esteemed jazz drummer and educator Charles Perry. His formal training at Hofstra University combined with his mentorship from Perry, guided his approach to drumming. His extensive performance history spans a wide array of styles, showcasing his flexibility and skill across different musical landscapes.
Franz Dornstauder
Born and raised in Vienna, Austria, Franz grew up surrounded by the city’s rich musical heritage. After moving to the United States as both a ski instructor and touring musician, the road eventually led to Long Island—where he has been a staple of the local music scene since 1995. A seasoned bass player and multi-instrumentalist, Franz has spent decades performing in clubs, theaters, festivals, and studio sessions, bringing a solid groove, deep pocket, and melodic sensibility to every project. Known for his professionalism and adaptability across genres, he has become a go-to bassist for bands and artists.
